Tony Blair used to promise to give old women sweets, the middle classes more gold and young people prisons. Now he wants to be president of Europe, saying, ‘It’s about today versus yesterday. Less about politics and more about a state of mind; open as opposed to closed.’ That’s stupid and meaningless. I left Britain because of Tony Blair and I don’t want him in charge of Europe. It’s a nice and complicated place.
